Private Piano Lessons and Performer

About

Not too many people you meet here can claim to be a native: I can, and have lived almost all of my life here in the greater Atlanta area. I grew up in Buckhead, where my parents owned an ornamental iron shop after they relocated here from up north to work at Bell Bomber during WWII. I graduated from North Fulton HS, performing with the choir which had an international reputation: this program was the predecessor for performing arts schools. I studied private piano lessons beginning at age 5 with my aunt, and then began formal piano lessons at age 7.

I have been married to my husband, Richard, for almost 30 years. He works at home alongside me in music and such. My daughter, Jennifer, from a previous marriage, lives near Philadelphia, PA with her husband and their 12-year-old twins, Liam and Mia. Richard and I have extended family in Atlanta and Panama City, FL. We are Christian, spiritual, moral, tolerant, responsible, disciplined, hard-working, active, healthy, educated, and interested in all the arts.

I have had two careers: music; and computer programming and multimedia development. This relocation to Cherokee County provides me with space to maintain a piano and video studio, so I have decided to return to teaching.

In my studio, I combine the two disciplines, and teach piano implementing multimedia. My students will be developing a life-long love for music, and learning artistic and computer skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.

All lessons include piano technique, literature, theory, sight-reading, practice techniques, music history and form, composition, and general arts appreciation. I also can employ computer methods, imaging, orchestration, and video editing in lessons.

If this teaching approach sounds interesting, please call for an initial evaluation.
